Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In San Diego, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

The food at Min Sok Chon is really good, and the overall atmosphere is lively and fun. Since itโ€™s more of a Korean drinking spot, it can get pretty loud, but thatโ€™s also part of the vibe. One thing I really like is that every table has a button to call the staff or request the check, which makes the service very quick and smooth. You donโ€™t have to spend time trying to get someoneโ€™s attention. The only downside is the parking. The lot is a little small and tight, so finding a spot can be difficult when itโ€™s busy. If youโ€™re looking for a place to hang out, catch up with friends, have some good food and a few drinks, this is a great choice. Theyโ€™re also open late, which makes it a perfect spot for late-night gatherings.

This restaurant has always been a long standing favorite of mine for late night Korean food, karaoke, and cocktails. The vibe is just a chill place for you and your peopleโ€™s to hang out. Staff is always helpful because itโ€™s always packed. Itโ€™s been standing for as long as it has because itโ€™s that good and consistent. My favorites: chicken wings, corn cheese, the side dishes, and soju cocktails

Revisited this place after several years and the quality has gone down. Was quickly seated but there was only one server for a full seating causing the service to be SLOW. The prices are really high for the amount of food. The parking lot charges parking so we walked about 3 blocks to get to this restaurant which is fine given the location. Do not come here hungry because the food will take forever to come. They offer the free sides and rice but you have to ask for it or else it won't come. Overall, I might try again with different dishes. The booths are creeky and feel like they will break at any moment.

So goodโ€ฆ eating out in San Diego is a bit expensive, especially when your food is often disappointing. Min Sok Chon was did not disappoint! With large portions of food, and additional side dishes. My beef short ribs came out sizzling and the flavor was on point! Some of the best Korean style short-ribs I have had. And the Tokyo Tea was a new try for me, a yummy green drink that has a hint of green apple and Mountain Dew flavor that went great with the food. There was a chill ambiance and private tables so I was able to get some work done while I was up late.

Food was amazing for a late night eats. Came here after Niteharts festival at SnapDragon. The atmosphere is dimly lit and lively, with karaoke rooms on one side of the restaurant. We ordered the Seafood and kimchi pajeon, beef bone soup with ramen, kimchijjigae, and bibimbop. The portions are huge but we managed to big back it all. There were side dishes as well, but we were never offered refills on it. Seems like service is operated with a button setup to streamline their workflow, where thereโ€™s a service button for: water, bill, server. Overall solid place that closes late.
